Glide Community Club
AED

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) was purchased with funds from a Mercy Foundation grant and is now hanging on the wall of the Glide Community Center, near the water fountain.  Carol Henry, EMS Battalion Chief for the Glide Fire Department, volunteered to teach a class on its use.

Saturday, February 13, most of the directors and a few club members received formal training in both AED and CPR.  Thanks to Carol, 9 club members are now certified.

The Club is glad to have the device, but hopes that it will never need to be used.

Thanks, Mercy Foundation, for helping the Glide Community Club better serve the people in this community.

The students watch an American Heart Association instructional video on AED use.  Dummies lie on the floor waiting to be resuscitated and defibrillated.

It was a bad day for babies at the fire station.  Lots of choking.
